Roy Elwood Cassell

Roy E. Cassell 74, of Patrick Springs passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.  Born on September 2, 1947 in Patrick Co, the son of the late Charles E. Cassell and the late Beckie Gilley Cassell, also preceded in death by his wife Nellie R. Cassell on October 19, 2021; son, Gary Cassell on February 8, 2022; brothers, Taylor Cassell, Doug Cassell, David Cassell and sister; Nancy Havens.
Roy is survived by his son and daughter – in – law; Roy Cassell, Jr. (Denise); grandchildren; Matthew Cassell, Dylan Cassell, Codie Marion, Cheyanne Cassell and Dayton Walter, Shyann Walter and Austin Walter; great grandchildren; Ivory Rose Scott and Charlee Mae Marion.  In addition, he is survived by a daughter – in – law; Tabitha Cassell; three sisters and brother – in law; Marie Hancock, Frances Mason and Jean Fretwell (Billy); one brother and sister-in-law; Roger L. Cassell (Daisy).
A visitation will be Wednesday, April 20 from 12 – 5 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m.at Old Spoon Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Hartman officiating.
