Mary Virginia Sexton

Mary Virginia Sexton, 77, of Martinsville, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  She was born in Wytheville on November 7, 1944 to the late Robert Sharitz and the late Ola Hardin Sharitz.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Paul Sexton, Jr.; granddaughter, Amanda Marlowe; brothers Dewey Sharitz and Roy Sharitz; sisters, Carolyn Cannoy and Shirley McGrady.
Mary is survived by her son, Allen Sexton (Ethel McClure); daughter, Sandra Martin (Bruce); grandsons, Trevor Martin (Kaitlyn Wimmer) and Michael Sexton; special nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
