Barbara Ann Jouell

Barbara Ann Wheeler Journell, peacefully passed away On June 12, 2025 at her home in Christiansburg, Virginia at the age of 88. Born on February 28, 1937, in Floyd County, Georgia, she was a daughter to the late Newton Pennington Sr. and Mabel White Wheeler.

Barbara's journey led her to build a beautiful family, including her devoted daughter, Ginger Stevers, and her loving sons, Richard Poole and Joe Curtis Poole, along with his wife, Denise. She was a stepmother to Jeffrey and Marvin Journell. She leaves behind her 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Barbara was reunited in passing with her beloved husband, Harvey Ray Journell, her daughter, Kathy Lynn Walker, step-daughter, Cherron Journell, and brothers, Newton Wheeler Jr, William Wheeler, Jack Wheeler, and Robert Wheeler.

Barbara enjoyed cooking for her family, as well as cooking and catering for Celanese.

She donated many hours of her time to RSVP. She enjoyed crafting, reading, and spending time with loved ones.

There will be private services held for Barbara at a later date. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Ray, at the Southwest Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia.
