Barbara Frances Booth
Barbara E. Booth, born in Craig County to parents Russell and Martha Elmore was called to be with her Lord and Savior at her home in Daleville, Virginia January 13, 2024. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband JT Robertson (27 years), husband Barrie Booth (34 years), step-grandchildren: Amanda Henderson and Kristin Atkinson.Barbara is survived by her son, David Robertson and wife Kathy; step-children: Scott Booth and wife, Bonnie, Michele “Mitzie” Booth; sister, Brenda Switzer and husband, Richard; step-grandchildren: Forrest Booth and wife, Erin, Ashlyn Wolstenholm and husband, Alex, and Chandler Booth; step-great-grandchildren: Bailey Atkinson, Connor Johnson, and Emmy Booth; sister-in-law, Connie Collins; niece Alicia Lovern and husband, Christian; and nephew, Jason Switzer and wife, Melinda.Barbara moved to Botetourt County in 1968 and retired from Allstate Insurance Company after 37 years of loyal service. She loved to travel and especially to the beaches of Hilton Head, SC. In the last two years, she looked forward to having lunch after church with her “lunch bunch” from Bonsack Baptist Church where she was a long-time member. Barbara was blessed with and abundance of friends and neighbors who cared deeply for her. She lived a full and fruitful life, but this past year she faced death with grace and dignity because of a long bout with a rare ovarian cancer.Barbara’s family wishes a special thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice and especially Maggie, Mary Lou, Donna, and Sara for their kind and sympathetic care.A celebration of Barbara’s life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 20 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Pastor Chris Cadenhead officiating.
