Barbara Gray Truxell

Barbara Gray Truxell, age 93, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Born on April 27, in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Russell Allen Gray and Ruth Garrison Gray. She was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Truxell; her brother, Reginald Gray; and her life partner, Robert Almond.

Barbara was a longtime member of Tyreeanna Chapel. She enjoyed gardening, family trips to Myrtle Beach with her two sons while they were growing up, and spending time with those she loved most. She especially loved her dog, Sam, and treasured the time shared with her family.

She is survived by her son, Geary Lee Truxell (Connie); her brother, William Gray; her granddaughter, Gena Taylor (Greg); and her great-grandson, Clayton Taylor.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Bonnie Crews and Samantha Cunningham officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her CNA, Shaniesha Robinson, for the compassionate care shown to Barbara. They would also like to thank Cardinal Senior Living and Affinity Hospice for their excellent care and support.
