Barbara Krimm Norvell

October 21, 1937 - February 5, 2024

Barbara Krimm Norvell, age 86, of 1137 Madison Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, February 5, 2024 at her residence.
Barbara was born October 21, 1937 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Frank Nicholas and Lucy Via Krimm, and was retired from First National Bank of Clifton Forge where she was a Loan Department Secretary. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Barbara’s whole world was her family, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren when they were young and never missed any important events of their lives. She spoiled everyone including her beloved cat, George. Everyone knew her for her love of cooking. Her Wednesday family suppers were made with so much love, included everyone’s favorites, and could have fed a football team. Barbara enjoyed watching UVA sports, and NY Yankees baseball with the love of her life, Sonny. She loved working in the yard, taking care of her neighbors’ animals, feeding the birds and squirrels, and watching any animal movies. She loved her ice cream, chocolate, and diet Coke. She would sneak beef roast to her grand-pup under the table and was always shoving money in your pocket. She was the true meaning of wife, mom, and granny.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Clinton “Sonny” Norvell; three brothers, Leo Krimm, Johnny Krimm, and Dickie Krimm; and five sisters, Margaret K. Francis, Edith Apperson, Esther Matheny, Ruth Warren, and Mary Cooke.
She is survived by a daughter, Tracey O’Connor and husband Jeff of Clifton Forge, two grandchildren, Taylor Mejia and wife Vanessa, and Derek O’Connor and wife Emily; a great-grandchild, Ella O’Connor; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Michael Francis and a special niece, Doris Rogers.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Mausoleum Chapel at Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor with Father Tom Collins officiating.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Alleghany Humane Society, PO Box 60, Low Moor, Virginia 24457.
