Barbara Oliver Scyphers

Barbara Oliver Scyphers, 78, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 15, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll B. Oliver and Ruth Hickman Oliver; daughter, Wendy Leigh Scyphers; brother, Robert Carroll Oliver.

Barbara is survived by her husband John Scyphers; daughter, Pamela Dawn Threewitts (Jason); grandchildren, Jake Threewitts, Kelsey Threewitts, and Kaelin Tinsely.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Compassion International at PO Box 5057 Boone, IA 50950-0057 in Barbara’s name.

Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11 am at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel, with Pastor Ed Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.
