Barbara Overstreet Brown

Barbara Overstreet Brown, 91, of Rocky Mount, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 25, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Gladys Nichols Overstreet; husband of 57 years Hylas T. “H.T.” Brown, Jr.; siblings, Buddy Overstreet, and Shelby Davis.

Barbara is survived by her children Stuart Brown, and Beth Stafford and husband Mark; grandson, Micah Stafford; brother, Jimmy Overstreet; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eva B. Hooley and Haven Nicely.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Franklin County Camp of the Gideons International (PO Box 915 Rocky Mount Virginia 24151) or a charity of your choice in Barbara’s name.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 11:30 am at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. Interment will follow services at Sherwood Memorial Park.
