Barbara Underwood Dalton

Barbara Underwood Dalton, 89, of Concord, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025.

Born on April 1, 1935, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late William A. Underwood, Sr., and Hallie H. Underwood. She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Dalton; her siblings, William A. Underwood, Jr., Frances Hutcherson, Donald Underwood, and Wayne Underwood and wife Judy; as well as a special son-in-law, Robert A. Trujillo.

Barbara was known for her sassy spirit and her deep love for her family. Whether she was spending time coloring, dressing up for any occasion, or dancing to her favorite tunes, she found joy in the simple moments. She also adored riding through the mountains, taking in the beauty of nature. A gifted seamstress, Barbara dedicated her life to her craft, pouring love and skill into every stitch. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara is survived by her two loving daughters, Sandra Speck (Bill) and Hope Dickerson (Steve); six grandchildren, Christopher Trujillo (Ashley), Drake Dalton, Morgan Dalton, Belle Dudley (Matt), Grant Dickerson, and Wyatt Dickerson; and four great-grandchildren, Julian Clark, Lillian Trujillo, Ryleigh Trujillo, and Claire Dudley. She also leaves behind her brother, Melvin Underwood (Phyllis), daughter-in-law, Leslie Dalton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

A graveside service to honor Barbara’s life will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Virginia Memorial Park, with Pastor John Sines, Jr. officiating.

Barbara may be gone from our sight; she will never be gone from our hearts.
