Belva Walker Richardson

Belva Joy Walker Richardson, wife of Leon Richardson, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 5, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Granville and Stella May Underwood Walker. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Simpson; daughter-in-law, Debbie Simpson; as well as 9 brothers and sisters.

Belva loved the Lord and enjoyed singing gospel music with Leon and their group.

In addition to her husband of 32 years, Leon Richardson, she will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Vickie Stacey (Ernie) and Rhonda Benson (Ronnie); grandchildren, Dan Stacey (Sara), Ashley Breeding (Rudy), Krystal Doyle, and Adam Benson, Mandi Jo Myers (Mike), Tiffany Hipes (Lee); great-grandchildren, Jax Stacey, Ava Stacey, Ellie Benson, Elijah Benson, Ean Benson, and Elana Benson, Madison Myers, and Lucas Hipes; step-son, John Richardson; step-grandson, Michael Richardson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Ernie Stacey officiating. Interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
