Ben Anderson Kidd

Ben Anderson Kidd, 72, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born March 19, 1951 to the late James Jim and Florence Mitchell Kidd in Hemphill, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his infant son, Benny Kidd.

He worked as a machinist for over 20 years at Bassett Furniture Industries. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanic work, and playing with his grandchildren.

Ben is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Harrell Kidd; daughters, Brandi Jenkins (Stevie) and Diane Cook (Mickey); son, Brandon Kidd (Kimberly); sixteen brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Tyler McMillian, Stevie Jenkins, Jr., Daniel McMillian, Isach Cook, Elijah Cook, Brayden Kidd, Abygayle Kidd, Macy Jenkins, and Megan Jenkins; and great-grandchildren, Kanden Powell, Kason Powell, Kreed Powell, and Levi Jackson.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Mount Vernon Cemetery, 42 Mount Vernon Road, Axton, VA 24054, with Pastor Neil Pressley officiating.
