Benjamin Wilson Morris

Benjamin Wilson Morris “Ben” age 79 of Rocky Mount, VA passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026. He was born January 5, 1947 to the late Wilson C. and Louise Crook Morris. In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his two sisters, Rose Cobbs and Coralea Love; and brothers- in- law, John Cobbs and Doug Love.Ben is survived by his wife Peggy Haynes Morris of 28 years; his nieces, Susie Moore, Fredona Aaron, Kim Schenkel; nephews, Russell and Tom Cobbs; and many nieces and nephews.Ben was known for his story telling and loved to tease all his family and friends. He loved hunting, traveling, gardening, and especially going to Alaska.Ben was a graduate of Franklin County High School and Virginia Western Community College. He was an active member and deacon at Oak Level Baptist Church and a retired employee of Cooper Wood Products.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland County Rescue Squad (P.O. Box 268, Monterey, VA 24465) or to Oak Level Baptist Church (7720 Oak Level Road, Bassett, VA 24055).A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026 with Rev. Daniel Collins officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
