Bertha Nuckols Arthur

Bertha Nuckols Arthur, 86 of Lynchburg and formerly of Thaxton passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026. She was born on Saturday, August 24, 1940 in Lynchburg, VA, a daughter of the late Earnest Edward Nuckols and Lillian Hartless Nuckols . She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Nuckols & Wallace Nuckols and her twin sister, Betty Cooper Enochs.

She was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, a former member of the Moose Lodge # 715 and American Legion Post #16 and was retired from Imperial Redding and Davis Paint Company. Bertha was an avid Mickey Mouse collector. She also loved bingo and camping at Virginia Beach.

She was a loving mother and Granny to her sons, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Scott Arthur (Stephanie), Shawn Arthur (Tracy); her grandchildren, Britney Arthur, Tyler Arthur, Taylor White, Jessica Wilson, Zachary Arthur as well as five great grandchildren and a special friend, Doug Farris.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Fort Hill Memorial Park. A celebration of life service will be announced shortly.
