Betty A. Cahill

Betty Saxe Cahill, 87 of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026. Betty was born on February 22, 1939 to the late Donald and Elvera Saxe in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome T. Cahill, her sister Donna Benson (Richard), and nephew Brian Benson.

She is survived by her children Eugene Cahill (Sandi), Lynne Farmer (Barry) and Rebecca Duffy. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren Chelsea Farmer (Taylor), Gregory Duffy, Benjamin Farmer (Kayla), Brandon Duffy and Brittney Duffy (Caitlynn), who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her brothers Edward Saxe (Jan) and Richard Saxe, and her nieces and nephews Maureen, Jennifer and Sean.

Betty worked as a secretary for Roanoke County Schools in the Speech and Hearing Department.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Chaplick Center staff for their compassionate care during Betty’s final years.

The family will hold a private graveside service on Saturday, August 22nd, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, Virginia.
