Betty Jane Staton of Pamplin, Virginia
July 7, 1937 - July 11, 2023

Betty Jane Orange Staton, 86, of Pamplin, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital.  

Born July 7, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Katie Goin Orange Sadler and Harry Morton Orange. Betty was a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church and a former member of Pamplin United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her grandson, Justin Mottley (Brittney) of Pamplin; granddaughter, Melissa Jones (Cameron) of TN; son-in-law, Larry Mottley; great-granddaughter, Autumn Mottley; two sisters, Joyce Baldwin and Dorothy Lair and (fiancé Jerry) of Pamplin; numerous nieces and nephews; and her feline companions, Minnie, Mack and Kitty.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn Mottley; son, Junior Edward Staton, Jr; one sister, Margaret Steadman; and three brothers, Ted Orange, Lewis Orange and Thomas Sadler.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Eric Hernandez officiating.
