Betty Lucille Edwards Wright

Mrs. Betty Lucille Edwards Wright, age 80, of Lowgap, gained her angel wings on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born on September 21, 1943 in Carroll County to the late John Madison and Ethel Odesa Edwards. Mrs. Wright had retired from Northern Surry Hospital after many years of service. She loved to swim, loved to cook, and she loved taking care of people. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Mack Arthur Wright; daughter, Tina Martin (Scott); sons, Terry Wright (Beverly), Tim Wright (Jeanette), Tony Wright (Daphne); grandchildren, Luke Wright (Gina), Allie Wright, Landon Wright, Abby Wright, Blake Martin (Dustin Marshall), Casey Wright (Megan), Chase Wright (Abbi Jackson); great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gwynn Wright; sister, Frances Holyfield (Ray). In addition to her parents Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Sumner and Laura Doby; brother, Odell Edwards. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 9 2024 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church with service conducted by Rev. Trent Lyons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time for the service at the church.
