Beulah Faye Asher
With eternal thanksgiving for the blessings she brought to our lives, we sadly announce the passing of Beulah Faye Asher, 80, of Salem, Virginia after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 14, 1944, in Lake City, TN, Beulah’s earthly journey took her from very humble beginnings to a successful life and career, serving as a loving wife and mother, all while balancing her job in industrial sales. After graduating high school in Tennessee, Beulah traveled to New Jersey and then to the Air Force, where she met her husband Jimmie, the love of her life. Together, they traveled extensively and lived for a time in England before settling in Salem in 1970, where they were blessed with one son and a very active and full life. Beulah enjoyed a prolonged retirement, spending time fishing in Myrtle Beach, SC, as well as reading, gardening, and travel. Her faith remained strong to the end, remarking shortly before her passing that she had enjoyed a good life, evermore being blessed with God’s answers to questions throughout her life.
Beulah was the daughter of the late Wayne Carroll and Polly Breeding Carroll of Devonia, TN. She is preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Raymond Carroll (Thelma), Betty Magee (Herbert), Lourtta Wagner (Vergle), and Leedie Carroll. Also preceded in death from Jimmie’s family are Roger and Bonita Asher, Reba Sue Brock, Farmer Hoskins, and Dennis Robinson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Jimmie, her son Jimmy Asher (Deborah) and grandson Zachary Liam Asher, sisters-in-law Patsy Hoskins, Martha Robinson, brother-in-law Will Brock, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A military graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep Beulah, her husband Jimmie, son Jimmy and the family in your prayers.
