Beverly Chadwick Boyd

August 31, 1930 - May 16, 2026

Beverly Chadwick Boyd passed away May 16, 2026 in Salem, Virginia at age 95. She was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1930 and was preceded in death by her parents Gene Chadwick and Vera (nee) Binkert, her son Timothy Boyd of Atlanta, Georgia and her siblings; Thomas, Yvonne, and Audrey Chadwick. Beverly is survived by her husband Robert, her brother James Van den Broeck of Toledo Ohio, her daughter Diana Boyd of Stafford, Virginia and her sons Robin of Dixon California and Daniel of Norman, Oklahoma. She is also survived by four grandchildren as well as two great-grand daughters.

Beverly was born to a financially-strapped family of five during the depression and never knew her mother, who died in childbirth when she was two years old. She graduated from Woodward High School in Toledo, Ohio in 1949 and was crowned Miss Toledo in a pageant shortly thereafter. After marrying Robert Francis Boyd in 1954 she worked full-time as a secretary for the New York Central Railroad and then New York Life Insurance Company to help support her growing family and permit Robert to acquire a Master’s degree from Toledo University and a PhD from Purdue University.

Beverly often stated: “If there is one thing I want more than any other it’s for my kids to have a college education.” She was able to live up to this challenge, with all four of her children getting college degrees and pursuing professional careers. However, her family always looked forward to coming home and enjoying her famous pies. As she got older Beverly repeated to family and friends that after her death, she wanted to see her mother Vera and son Timothy, who died at 39. Her hope is now being answered.
