Booker Daniel Adkins

Booker Daniel Adkins, 75, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1949, in Eden, North Carolina to the late Grady Adkins and Bertha Lillard Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Booker Adkins, Jr. and Jody Adkins; his granddaughter, Hailey Adkins; and his brothers, Robert Callahan, Jimmy Adkins, and Archie Adkins.

Booker was a skilled, self-employed mechanic who spent many years doing what he loved—working on cars. He also enjoyed racing and fishing, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary “Opalene” Adkins; his son, Donnie Adkins (Amy); and his cherished grandchildren: Dylan Henderson, Jody Jr. Adkins, and Katelyn Adkins. He is also remembered by extended family and many friends.

Booker especially wanted to thank his best friend, Earl Penn, for his loyal friendship and support throughout the years.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mike Varner officiating.
