Brenda Baker Brown
Mrs. Brenda Baker Brown, age 76, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Brown was born in Surry County, February 13, 1948, to the late Tommy Baker and Martha Wayne Wood Baker. In her spare time, she could be found fishing with her brother and nephew, she loved bowling and golfing, spending time with her grandkids and making memories. Even when she wasn’t busy with the family, she was making videos to post on her Facebook page, Laughs with Brenda, to bring people joy. Brenda lived each day to the fullest, she taught her children and grandchildren that there is always something to be thankful for. Brenda’s final act of kindness was donating her body to science. Mrs. Brown is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Gary Lee Brown; daughters and son-in-law, Angie Venable (Robbie), Christy Stanley and friend James Hiatt; grandchildren, Emilee Dockery (Jake), Hallee Stanley, Kynlee Venable, River Venable; great grandchildren, Adalynn and Calvin Dockery; Brian Stanley, the father of Emilee and Hallee; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara Freeman (Doug “Peanut”), Faye Brindle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buster Baker (Debbie), Greg Brown (Barbie); several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends November 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at White Sulphur Springs Venue (Mount Airy) with a celebration of her life to follow with the Rev. Tony Holder and Dr. Jonathan Casstevens officiating. The Brown family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and compassion shown during her illness. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Brown requested donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.
