January 6, 1953 - May 23, 2025

Brenda (Sissy) Gail Furrow, 72, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

She was born January 6, 1953 to the late Cover and Pearl Hodges. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Walter Hodges; sisters, Irene McGuire, Gertrude Prater, Edith Wray, Nannie Holland, Peggy Hawks, and Louise Lynch. She is also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Stafford and Bertha Furrow. Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Wray Furrow of 55 years; son, Tony (Loretta) Furrow; son, Jeffery Furrow; and her 4 grandchildren J.W., Paul, Angel, and Evan Furrow. Brenda held her sisters close to her heart: Joyce Hudson, Elizabeth (Blaine) Holcomb, and Maxine Weeks. She is also lovingly remembered by her in-laws Pat Harmon, Sandra (Joe) Blackstock, Goldie (Andy) Potter, and Calvin (Cyndi) Furrow. Brenda leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was a lifetime member of Henry Fork Community Church. She was also employed at M & W and PlyGem for 43 years.

Brenda loved her family fiercely, treasured her friendships, and found joy in the simple things—a good conversation, a cup of coffee, a beautiful day. She was a friend and “Nanny Furr” to many. She loved to go shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, sisters, and friends, being picked on by her sons, and riding around on the golf-cart with Wray and Tinker. She made everyone feel like they mattered, and her love will continue to ripple through the lives she touched.

Funeral services will be held at Henry Fork Community Church, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025 with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Hodges-Lynch Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
