Brian Keith Deatley

BRIAN KEITH DEATLEY, 57, of Bastian, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 6, 2024. He was born June 8, 1966 in Bluefield, WV, the son of Albert Edward DeAtley and Kay Jarvis DeAtley  Hoge. 

Brian was an avid reader and history buff. He was very intelligent and could answer most every question on Jeopardy. He loved gardening and being outdoors. He was blunt and to the point. He was a fabric cutter at Oak Hall Cap & Gown. 

His favorite activity was making sure to collect the chicken eggs daily with his granddaughter, Ruby.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Albert Edward DeAtley, and special grandparents whom he cared for in their later years, Jessie Edward & Dora Pauline Kitts DeAtley.

Left to cherish his memory are his son & daughter-in-law, Jeremy Elliott and Liz Workman; his grandchildren, Justin Smith, Chase Elliott, Ruby Elliott, Coley Elliott and Wrenley Elliott; his mother, Kay Jarvis DeAtley Hoge; his brother & sister-in-law, Steve & Tracy DeAtley; special uncle & aunt, Benny & Kathy DeAtley; special nephews, Jessie DeAtley, Zach DeAtley and Ethan DeAtley; and a special niece, Annalyse DeAtley.

Per Brian’s wishes, he has been cremated and there are no public services planned.
