Calvin Lynwood Plybon, age 94 of Hardy was born July 23, 1928 and deceased May 8, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents, Elder Posey Lester Plybon and Ella Brown Plybon;sisters, Mary Plybon Perdue, Ethel Plybon Thurman, Lura Plybon Pagans; brothers, Grover Randolph, Daniel Lester and Silas Franklin Plybon;sisters-in-law, Esther Ferguson Plybon, Pearl Wuergler Plybon, Etta Turner Plybon; brothers-in-law, Alton Perdue, Henry C. Thurman, Walter E. Pagans,John W. Booth, Jr.; nephews, Nelson Thurman and wife, Reva PagansThurman, Howard E. Plybon, and Little James Perdue.Surviving to cherish precious and blessed memories are his lovingand devoted wife, best friend and companion of 75 Years, Juanita CundiffPlybon; one special daughter, Carolyn Plybon Fitzpatrick and husband JamesFitzpatrick III of Amherst, Virginia; one special son, Kenneth Plybon and wife, Lura Truman Plybon of Hardy,Virginia;four grandchildren and spouses, Jerilyn Becker, Colby Plybon, April PlybonStultz (Damon), Samantha Plybon Weaver (Josiah);five great-grandchildren, Julia Becker, Reagan and Carly Stultz, Aleahand David Weaver; step-grandchildren and spouses, Susan Bryan (Christopher), JamesFitzpatrick IV (Jennifer), Jonathan Fitzpatrick; step-great-grandchildren, Skylour Stultz, Reagan and Lathan Bryan,Madison, Mackenzie and Malina Fitzpatrick; one special and loving sister, Nellie Plybon Booth; one sister-in-law,Frances Ferguson Plybon; and many special nieces and nephews.He was a very faithful, compassionate and loving husband, father,grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He loved his family, church family, brethren and many friends dearly. He will be greatly missed by family and many others. Calvin was united with Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church on June 22, 1997 and baptized by his Pastor, Elder Clarence Stone on July 27, 1997 and became an Ordained Deacon onApril 25, 1998. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 with Elders Mark Terry, Junior Conner and Ray King officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
