Calvin William Hickson

Calvin William Hickson, age 88 of Ferrum died Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born December 11, 1937 and was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Hickson; sisters, Barbara and Linda; and brothers, Pete Hickson and Butch Hickson. Calvin was a United States Navy Veteran discharged in 1958. He graduated Berean College of Theology in 1986 and also UVA with an Engineering Degree. His career consists of engineering and management in the coal fields of West Virginia, opening the first coal mine in Colorado for Atlantic Richfield, owner and manager of Hickson Enterprise, and 45-year Pastor for the Assemblies of God serving 30 years at Endicott Assembly of God. He also served 14 years as Presbyter of the Assemblies of God. Calvin was a member of the VFW and enjoyed preaching the word of God. Surviving are his wife, Linda Hickson; daughter, Sherrie Hickson; granddaughter, Tiffany Deeb; brothers, Marvin Hickson, Charles Hickson, Bill Hickson, and Jack Hickson; sisters, Maryln Jo Owens, Sandy Vaneck, Carolyn Campbell and Donna Skeat; favorite niece, Kristal Jones; and his dog, Buddy. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 10 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2026. Interment will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA at 2:30 p.m. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
