Camellia "Nehri" Myra Vaughn

July 7, 1941 - June 24, 2024

Camellia Myra “Nerhi” Vaughn, 82of Bassett, Virginia transitioned on June 24, 2024 at her home. On this day GOD called our dear beloved home from labor to rest. She was born in Henry Virginia on July 7, 1941 to the late James SterlingManns and the late Prince Anna Wimbush Manns. She attended Pleasant Baptist Hill Church where she was a faithful servant on theUsher Board. Nerhi worked at Stanely Furniture for 55+ years until she become ill and retired. During her time on Earth and up until her sickness, she enjoyed taking family trips, spending time with her family, cooking pinto beans, cornbread, baked chicken and greens for her late Brother Everette, late Sister “Ann” and Sister Julia Mae.

​Along with her parents, she was preceded in death her beloved husband Henry William Vaughn; brother Everette Lee Manns, brother James Albert Manns and Sister Birdie Ann Hairston. She was also proceeded in death by her Uncle Jessie Wells and Aunt Irene Manns Wells who cared for her once her parents died at a young age, sister Evelyn Wells Vaughn, sister Elizabeth Wells Hairston and sister Martha Vaughn, one grandson Shedrick Barner; great-granddaughter Nevaeh A’Miracle Tarpley, great-granddaughter Sha’Meah Barner and a beloved son-in-law the late Steven Wimbush.

​She leaves to mourn and cherish her daughter Karen Wimbush of Collinsville, Annette Vaughn of Bassett and William Vaughn of Collinsville VA; two sisters, Juila Mae Manns of Silver Springs Maryland (Gregory) and sister Sarah Ross of Fieldale Virginia; sister Milderd France of Bassett, Ernestine Hagwood of Fieldale, sister Jennie Wells of Bassett ad Shedrick Wells of Bassett and Robert F. Wells of Martinsville VA four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 12 Noon at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Carver Memorial Gardens.
