Carl Allen Curry

January 8, 1967 - May 31, 2025

Carl Allen Curry, 58, entered his eternal rest May 31, 2025, in Martinsville, Virginia. He was born January 8, 1967, in Martinsville to the late George Eugene Curry and Nancy Lee Hooker Curry.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Tina Louise Curry.

Carl was of the Christian faith and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. After graduating from high school he attended Ferrum College, followed by a thirty year career as an employee for Proctor & Gamble as a maintenance technician. His dedication to his work was infectious, as he loved his work. His life was full of adventure, and he had gained an interest in traveling; he particularly enjoyed going on cruises. Carl found great happiness in the simple things of life. Whether exercising, relaxing at the beach, or fishing, he was content. All who knew Carl knew that he loved both children and animals. All animals were babies to him, and he was especially fond of canines. But of all these earthly joys, nothing could compare to his deep love for his family. Although his earthly presence has left us way too soon, he will always be remembered for the legacy of love he left on this earth as an incredible husband, brother, and father.

Those left behind to forever treasure his memory are his loving wife, Pamela Sherwin Curry; son, Raine Storm Curry; brothers, Terry Eugene Curry, George Shannon Curry; aunts, Bobbie Sue Agee, Mary Elizabeth Cantu, Emma Lee Bailey, Brenda Joyce, and Francis Seay; uncle, Carl “Doda Bug” Curry; and numerous extended family and friends.

Paulbearers to include: Richard Taylor, James Bullins, Jim Barbour, Alex Curry, Steve Martin, Nootsie Moore, and Billy Southern.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in memory of Carl Curry to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 18075 A.L. Philpott Highway, Ridgeway, Virginia or SPCA of Martinsville-Henry County, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia, 24112.

A funeral will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Steve Doby officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
