Carl Watson

Carl “Nubby” Adolphus Watson, 65, of Appomattox, VA entered into eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

He was the son of the late Craig T. Watson and Louise P. Watson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Baby Boy Watson; brother, John E. Watson and sisters Frances W. Lawing and Alfreda D. Watson and sister-in-law Elizabeth Watson.

Carl, also known as Nubby, was a proud graduate of Appomattox County High School’s class of 1979. Immediately after graduation, Nubby went to work at Armstrong Furniture (Thomasville). With his strong work ethic he was employed there for over 30 years where he worked production and also as a forklift driver.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sons Steven C. Watson and Jonathan T. Watson, both of Appomattox, VA; grandson, Mason Watson of Lynchburg, VA; granddaughters Mia Watson of Lynchburg, VA and baby Kinsley (on the way) of Concord, VA; one brother, Steve R. Watson of Richmond, VA; three nieces, Tonia Watson and Selena Robinson of Appomattox, VA; DeAndrea Williams of Richmond, VA; one nephew, Brian R. Watson of Richmond, VA; six great-nieces, Symone L. Watson of Appomattox, VA; Prestyn Williams of Richmond, VA, Tamika Anderson of Greensboro, NC, Danielle Trent, Maria Anderson and Tiffany Anderson all of Appomattox, VA; three great-nephews, John Anderson, DuWayne Anderson and Jakeem Haskins all of Appomattox, VA; one brother-in-law, Timotheus Lawing of Lynchburg, VA; one “special” second mother figure, Frances Tibbs of Appomattox, VA and a host of other relatives and friends.
