Carlene G. Kline

Carlene Gore Kline, 89, of Salem and formerly of Hardy, Va., passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Carlene is preceded in death by her parents, William & Lula Mae (Evans) Gore; husband, Leonard P. Kline; sisters, Lorene, Sue, and Lois; and children, Eddie Kline and Becky Kline.

Carlene was a devoted mother and wife. She dedicated her entire life to caring for her husband, and her children. She loved her time spent tending to the garden. She also enjoyed making and canning homemade jams and jellies.

Those left here on earth to cherish her memory include her children, Leonard P. Kline Jr., William “Bill” Kline, Jeffrey Kline, and Debbie Cassell; siblings, Janette Smith, and Virgil Gore; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and her special K9, Bella.

Ms. Kline’s family wishes to thank the caring staff of The Oaks at Richfield Living for the compassionate care given to Ms. Kline during her stay.

In keeping with Ms. Kline’s wishes, all services will be held privately by the family.
