Carol Jo Fisher
Carol Jo Fisher, 68, of Roanoke went home to be with her Creator on Friday, January 31, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Rogoza.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Craig S. Fisher; children, Casey Conn from Traverse City, MI, Brandon Fisher (Ronda Armstrong) from Antioch, TN, Laura Gleis (Anthony) from San Diego, CA, and Kaitlyn Fisher from Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Benjamin, Ellie, Astraea, and Esmeray; and sisters, Cathy Rogoza Heise from Saginaw, MI, and Nancy Rogoza Wheeler from Monument, CO.
Above all things, Carol had a deep and abiding love for Jesus and her family. She had a big heart and a gentle spirit. She had compassionate love of children. Her roles as a mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, foster parent, educator, and labor and delivery nurse were the joy of her life. She displayed a gentle, caring, and faithful commitment to each of these roles. Her beautiful smile displayed an inner beauty that exuded kindness and gentleness. She freely shared her smile and love for others whether they be family, friends, neighbors, work associates, or children. She loved selflessly. She laughed often. She loved life.
The family will have a Visitation from 10:30 – 11:00am on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Faith Alliance Church, 7505 Barrens Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. A Coming Home Celebration Service will follow at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested gifts In Memory of Carol be made to Faith Alliance Church, the Parkinson's Foundation, or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
The family would like to thank the many people, known and unknown to them, who lifted Carol, Craig, and the family up in prayer over the time she battled Parkinson's Disease; especially her Faith Alliance Church family. She knew she was not alone. They would also like to thank their neighbors for their kindness and outpouring of love. Good Samaritan Hospice and each of the bedside care-providers and on-call responders served Carol well and deserve special recognition in assisting Carol on her journey home. Thank you for all who will attend her Coming Home Celebration and those that will be with the family in spirit, if not in person.
