Carolyn Diane (Odum) Woods

Mrs. Carolyn Diane Odum Woods, age 70 of Mount Airy entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Woods was born on April 11, 1956, in Forsyth County to the late Roy Joseph Odum and Ethel Browder McCraw. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Blue Hollow Baptist Church as long as her health allowed and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Troy Robert Poindexter and Melissa, step daughter, Dianah Woods; step son, Craig Woods, seven grandchildren, Sydney Woods and Adrienne, Kristin Poindexter King and Justin, Zachary Poindexter, Chirstopher Poindexter, Ashley Woods, Tesla Woods Prater, Holly Aldridge and Josh; great-grandchildren, Landon Woods, Leland Woods, Thomas Scott, Juniper Aldridge; three sisters, Patricia Odum Midkiff, Sandy Odum Kopak, Janet Odum; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin Odum and Frankie, Bobby Odum and Della, Roy Odum; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Woods; a son, James Allen Poindexter; two sisters Nancy Odum McGee, Kathy Odum Tate; and a brother, James Edward Odum. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Blue Hollow Baptist Church in Mount Airy with Reverend Rickey Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Midkiff Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Blue Hollow Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
