Catherina Tambasco Jackson

CATHERINA TAMBASCO JACKSON, 93, of Bastian, VA passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born September 18, 1929 in Trieste, Italy, the daughter of Vincenzo & Amalia Tambasco.

Catherina had a strong faith and was a hard worker. She retired from the Tultex Corporation and was able to help raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing card games, watching Little House on the Prairie and reality tv and listening to Opera music. She was considered a wonderful cook and enjoyed feeding people.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincenzo & Amalia Walla Jackson, her son, James Jackson and four sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter & son-in-law, Suzie & Darryl Dunn; her grandchildren, Chris & Hope Jackson and Brandi & Allan Quesinberry; her great-grandchildren, Dylan Jackson (Katlyn Davidson), Cameron Jackson (Alexis Clodfeltr), Kendyl Jackson, Aiden Jackson, Kody Blankenship, Bryce Dunn, Raven Roseberry and Gage Quesinberry; her great-great-grandchildren, Landrey Jackson, Kylan Blankenship, Teighan Blankenship and  Kaiden Blankenship; her brother, Carlo Tambasco; and her sister, Maria Harmon.

A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 6:30 P.M. at Bastian Church of God with Pastor Cliff Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 P.M. until service time, 6:30 P.M. Catherina will be cremated and will be privately laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date.
