Catherine Jane (Spencer) Pilson

Mrs. Catherine Jane Spencer Pilson, 91, of Martinsville, VA transitioned on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at her residence. She was born July 10, 1935 a daughter of the late Dearing Leslie and Katherine Spencer Payne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Pilson.

She was a retired nursing supervisor from Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County, and was a faithful member of Fellowship Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ where she served on the Trustee Ministry, Finance Committee, president of the Usher ministry, President of the Pastor Aide ministry and the Nurses Unit until her health declined.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Nadine Hamlett, of Lynchburg, VA; Cynthia Martin, of Evington, VA and Kawan Turner, of Marion, IN; three sons, Leslie Walker, of Martinsville, VA; Fred Cabler, Jr., of Newport News, VA; and Ricky Cabler, of Hampton, VA; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Fellowship Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, with Bishop Phillip Calloway, officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one half hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at 575 Parkway Drive, Martinsville, VA at other times.

A public viewing will be held Monday, October 5, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services.
