Catherine Marlene Anderson

Catherine M. Anderson 90, of Vinton VA, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2025.
Catherine (Marlene) was born in Redbank, NJ on April 26, 1935.  New Jersey is where she called home, for much of her life. 
 
Together with her husband George J. Anderson and their 8 children, they lived in Howell, NJ for 33 years before retiring to Lewes DE. 
 
Marlenes primary job in her lifetime was raising her 8 children. Although Marlene had a few jobs outside the home, her absolute favorite was working as receptionist at her son’s salon, Michael & Co Salon. 
 
Marlene is predeceased by her husband of 48 years; George, 4 of her children; Katharine, 
David and Michael McCracken, Patricia Johnson and her brother James Griswold.  

Marlene is survived by her brother William Griswold, her sister Joan Wolf, her 4 children;
Mark McCracken, Mary Bell, Joyce Davidson and Kelly Rogers, 14 grandchildren and 7 
great-grandchildren. 
 
Marlene was a devoted and respected wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. There will never be enough days to get over the loss of her in our lives.  

Private services will be held for family and friends.
