Charles Edward Hershman

Charles Edward Hershman, age 83 passed away November 2, 2024 at Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs, Virginia. Mr. Hershman was born June 26, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Elsie Rowland Adams Hershman and the late John B. Hershman. He was married to Joyce Taylor Hershman for 53 years.

Mr. Hershman proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and was retired as a forester with the Rappahannock Electric company. He will always be remembered as a kind and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife of the residence, he is survived by his son, Charles E. Hershman, Jr.; his step-sons, Jimmy Eanes and Richard Eanes; one step-daughter, Sherri E. Taylor; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Gina H. Roakes; and his sister, Shirley H. Wright.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Sheva Church of Christ with Pastor James Oliff officiating. Mr. Hershman will be laid to rest following the funeral service at the church cemetery.
