Charles Ronald Mitchell

Charles Ronald Mitchell, 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He is survived by Wilmalee Floyd Mitchell, wife of 49 years. Charles was the son of the late Charles Andrew and Melvola Tolley Mitchell. His sister, Linda, and inlaws, Ollie and Clara Bane Floyd preceded him in death.

Charles was a 1962 graduate of Natural Bridge High School and spent years working for Lees Carpet and Mohawk Industries. Charles and Wilmalee enjoyed planning and joining bus trips. Together they visited all 50 States. Regular trips to Myrtle Beach and Nashville for Christmas were their favorite spots. For years, they served the Twilighter seniors group in their local church.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista, Virginia on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Dr. Michael Wilburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice of Roanoke (6045 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019).
