Charlie Marvin Harris

Charlie “Marvin” Harris, 91, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024. Marvin was born in Halifax County, VA on November 26, 1932 to the late Annie Vicks Harris and the late Mose Harris. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mrs. Joyce Johns Harris.

Marvin was a longtime member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a Diesel Mechanic for Lawrence Distributing Company previous to his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by a daughter; Michelle Easley of Ringgold, VA; two sisters; Frances Reynolds and Marie Goble; a son in law; Calvin Easley Sr.; two grandchildren; Calvin Easley Jr (Carrie) and Andrew Easley (Chelsi); two great grandchildren; Betsy Easley and Sophia Easley and a sister in law; Carolyn Bowman (Larry).

In addition to his Parents, Marvin is predeceased by a son; Marty Ray Harris; a sister; Earlene Snead; and three brothers; “Runt” Gaither Harris, Odell Harris, and Lonnie Harris.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Faith Memorial Baptist Church, 7450 Martinsville Highway, Danville, VA 24541 or to the Fire Department or Life Saving Crew of your choice.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 3:00pm at Faith Memorial Baptist Church, 7450 Martinsville Highway, Danville, VA 24541 with Pastor Daniel Lackey, Pastor Seth Lackey, and Pastor Austin Merricks officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3:00pm. At other times the family will be at the residence in Ringgold.
