Charlie Poore, 53, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, after a short battle with cancer.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Stacy Campbell Poore of Buchanan, mother, Patricia Poore (Doug) of Roanoke,  step-father, Ed Norris of Roanoke, father-in-law, Joe Campbell  of Clifton Forge, brothers, Jeff Poore (Joyce) of Roanoke, Greg Poore of Salem;  sons, Charlie Poore (Courtney) of Roanoke, Daniel Plumb (Kendzie) of Fincastle, Michael Plumb (Taizsha) of Rocky Mount; daughter,  Melissa Bierce of Fincastle; seven grandchildren,  Alexis Bierce, Victoria Bierce, Julian Plumb, Michael Woods, Joseph David Bierce, Stacy Danielle Plumb, and Taylor Plumb;  two great-grandchildren, Christian Alexander Patterson and Presley Jade Plumb;  nieces, Brooke McCormick (Daniel)  of  Falling Springs and Makenzie Long of Clifton Forge; sister-in-law, Sonya Long (Kenny) of Clifton Forge and brother-in-law, Brandon Campbell (Chrissy) of Fincastle;  very special, lifelong friend, Andrew Richardson, of Roanoke; friend and driving brother Donald Tucker, of Roanoke.

Charlie was employed by Tyco Simplex Grinnell from 1999 – 2017, and Watsontown Trucking Company from August 2017 until his passing.

Charlie was a wonderful, gentle soul.  He never met a stranger, and everyone he met loved him.  He had a passion for motorcycles and riding, but his true passion was his love of family and helping others.  The word “no” was not in his vocabulary.  He loved to joke and make others laugh.  Always the “glass is half full” guy.  Our HERO will be missed by many.

A special thank you to Dr. Joshua Morales and staff, at the Blue Ridge Cancer Center of Roanoke, and to the nursing angels on the 10th floor of Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
