Cheryl Marsh Williams

Cheryl Marsh Williams, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC. She was married to Thomas Claude Williams, who survives.

Born January 10, 1954 in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde F. Marsh and the late Ruby Church Marsh. She was a 1972 graduate of Chatham High School. Cheryl had a deep and genuine love for animals that was evident throughout her life. She had a special place in her heart for the animals she encountered and cared deeply about their well-being.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Travis Steven Grindle, and two grandchildren, Aiden Thomas Grindle and Emery Harper Grindle, all of Sanford. She is also survived by two sisters, Denise Marsh Dawson and Cindi Marsh Hammell, of Chatham and one brother and his wife, Frankie and Barbara Marsh, of Blairs, VA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a niece, Blair Marsh.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 1:00pm at Hillcrest Cemetery, Chatham, VA, with Reverend Richard Motley officiating.
