Christine Altice

December 12, 1938 - February 21, 2023

Christine Altice, age 84 of Rocky Mount, Virginia entered her eternal home on February 21, 2023.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Christine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Andrew; her daughter, Diane (Brute) Bernard. She was a proud grandma to her granddaughter, Kara Bernard (Charlie Keffer); and great-grandchildren, Kolton and Karsyn Keffer. Also left to honor her memory is sister, Betty Mullins; sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Altice, Pauline Howery and Penny Altice; brother-in-law, Eldridge “Bozo” Altice (Earlene); and several cousins, nieces, and nephews, especially her special niece, Tammy Harrell.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Fred Meeks and Beulah Robertson Meeks; brother, Wilford Meeks; and nephew, Todd Meeks.

The family would also like to thank her caregiver, Cecile Woods, and hospice nurse, Tosha Cummings, for the care they provided Christine in her final days.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Furnace Creek Baptist Church, where she was the last living charter member. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will hold visitation one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
