Christine Marie Harvey

Christine Marie Harvey, 72, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away August 23, 2024, after an 8.5-year battle with cancer. Christine was born January 15, 1952, in Washington D.C, to the late Joseph and Evelyn Smith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Donald Harvey Sr., daughter, Sandra Harvey and grandson, Joseph Harvey.

Christine worked at TR Properties for 15 years and earned the prestigious title of President before it closed in 2022. She specialized in residential and commercial rentals to the local area and was an active member of the Property Management Association, serving as secretary for several years. Christine was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed time with her fur babies, family and friends. Watching her squirrels and hummingbirds on the front porch was her favorite pastime.

Christine leaves behind the following family members to cherish her legacy: brother, Thomas (Stephie) Smith of Myersville, MD; sister, Darlene (Jim) Phelan of New Market, MD; daughters, Melissa Singer of Danville, VA, Tina (Bob) Funkhouser of Gaithersburg, MD, Rebecca Tatum of Martinsville, VA and son, Dale Harvey of Fieldale, VA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kenneth (Nita) Zaucha Jr, Sarah Singer, Amber (Michael) Hawley, Samantha (Keith) Speck, Lily Harvey, Trinity Harvey, and Jake Harvey; 7 great-grandchildren and Christine’s dearest friend of 47 years, Terry Davis.

A celebration of life will be held at Norris Funeral Services, 1500 Kings Mountain Road Martinsville, VA, Saturday, August 31st, 2024, from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the local SPCA on Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, VA.
