Clara Elizabeth Carter Overstreet

Clara Elizabeth Carter Overstreet, 90 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Springtree Health Care Center. She was born on Monday, September 19, 1932 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Cephas T. Carter and Reba Carter Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bennie W. Overstreet.

She was a member of Cool Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Falls; her son, Jimmy Carter & wife, Donna; her sisters, Edna Hickman & husband Thomas "Hick", Mae Dooley; her grandchildren, Susan Byrd (Stuart), Jeremy Amos (Michael Crawford), Vanessa Carter (Michael Sipes), Jared Ellis; her great grandchildren, Jessica Curry (Trevor),Daria Carter, Grace Ellis, Cass Ellis, Foxx Sipes and her great great granddaughter, Addyson Curry and great great grandson, Ryland Curry as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel. Interment will follow in Carter Family Cemetery.
