Clarence Richard Sprinkle

Clarence Richard “Dickie” Sprinkle II, 75, of Buchanan, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 31, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Richard and Dorothy Christine Sprinkle. Dickie was an avid outdoorsman enjoying bear hunting with his dogs, wife, and friends. He was a lifelong member of the Virginia Bear Hunters Association where he was president for four years. Dickie was a retiree from Verizon with 35 years as a Lineman and Compliance Inspector. Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Janice Hayes Sprinkle; sister and brother-in-law, Carole Sprinkle Allred and Gene Allred; and several nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Amanda Montgomery, Matt Trammell, Maren Trammell, special friends, Dolly Montgomery and Dennis Falls; and his hunting dogs. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2026 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 pm also in the Chapel with Elder I. Ray Sloan officiating. Burial will be private. A reception will follow in the Botetourt Event Center. Flowers are beautiful, however the family wishes donations may be made to your local Hospice, a Dementia organization, or to a charity of your choice.
