Claudie Virginia Spencer

Claudie Virginia Spencer, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026. She was born on May 24, 1943, to the late Lofton Williams and Veatrice Perdue Williams.

In addition to her parents, Claudie was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Lovell, and her sister, Dorothy Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Rickey Spencer; her daughter, Susan Spencer; her two sisters, Bertha Agee and Dean Daniels; her two grandsons, Christopher Carty and Adam Easton; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Claudie found joy in the simple beauty of life, especially in working with flowers. Her love for flowers reflected her appreciation for nature and the beauty found in everyday moments. She also attended Trinity Friends Church in Martinsville, where she shared in the fellowship of her faith community.

Though Claudie will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her, the memories she leaves behind will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who cherished her. May her loved ones find comfort in the precious moments they shared with her and peace in knowing that her memory will live on for generations to come.

There will be a funeral service on Thursday, October 15th, 2026 at Bassett Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be on Friday, October 16th 2026 at Roselawn Burial Park at 11:00 a.m.
