Clyde Archie Witt

Clyde Archie Witt Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. Clyde was born in Evington, VA on March 29, 1932, to the late Myrtle Lewis Witt and the late Peter Ralph Witt. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of 74 years, Mrs. Anne Stewart Witt.

Clyde was of the Christian Faith, and attended Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church. He worked for many years as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, previous to his retirement. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He had a special love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Clyde is survived by two daughters; Cynthia Inman (Dennis) and Tami Murphy (Steve), both of Danville, VA; two sons; Clyde Witt Jr. (Vickie) of Chatham, VA and Paul Witt (Jeanne) of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde was predeceased by a daughter; Kathy L. Witt; a brother; Paul Witt; and a sister; Beatrice Schiro.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00am at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Danville, VA with Pastor Daryl Joyce officiating.
