Corbin Luther Beach
Corbin L. Beach, 97, of Roanoke, passed away, Thursday, March 12, 2026. A native of Roanoke, he was born November 20, 1928, to the late Nestor F. and Lucy E. Richardson Beach.
Corporal Corbin Luther Beach served in the United States Army as a Combat Medic during the Korean Conflict. He received a Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Medical Ribbon, and the Korean Defense Service Medal. Corbin was a member of the 45th Infantry Division, 279th Infantry Association. After serving his country he was employed by Norfolk and Western Railroad for 10 years, General Electric for 31 years, and the City of Roanoke for 14 years. He was a member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #248, VFW Post #1264, and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for trout fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife Myrtle J. Beach; brother, Nestor Beach, Jr.; sisters, Anna Gordon, Pauline Keaton Williams, Elizabeth B. Sledd, Mildred B. Carroll; brother and sister-in-law, Malcolm L. McClure, Jewell J. McClure Beach; stepson, Phillip Eugene Barton and stepdaughter Suzie Barton Grinnan.
Corbin is survived by his wife Nancy Lee Shrewsberry Beach; sons, Nestor W. Beach (Nola), Damon L. Beach, and Jason C. Beach (Barbara); stepdaughter, Vicki Minnix (Dennis); stepsons, Brian Barton (Sondra), Randy Barton (Mollie), and Chris Barton; grandchildren, Jessie Stimpson (Jake), Daniel Sheffer (Brandy), Jennifer Tampasis (Tony), Corey Beach, Jordan Beach, Peyton Beach, and Keaton Beach; step-grandchildren, Nathan Minnix, Sr., Jessica Adams, Lindsey Barton, Haley Barton, Emily Barton, Gage Barton Keith, Keller Barton, and Hunter Barton; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Connie and Ronnie Kendrick and Tim and Bonnie Gay for the care and attention the provided to Corbin.
Services will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 12 pm at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel. Interment will follow services at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 4-6 pm at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel, as well as one hour prior to the service time.
