Creda Matney

On Friday, October 3, 2025, Creda Matney, age 82, met her Lord and Saviour face to face. Creda was ready to answer the call as she had a personal relationship with Jesus. Preceding her in death was her husband, Ulysis Matney. Surviving are a special granddaughter, Jazmine Kincer.

For the past 18 years, Creda was a member of Franklin Heights Church and was loved by her church family and her Connect Group. When you visited Creda and left, she always said “I love you”.

Special thanks to Carilion Hospice and her caregivers, Brenda, Lynn, Dee and especially, Crystal Daniels, who more than met her needs for the past nine months.

Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2025 with Dr. Stan Parris and Pastor Deke Andrews officiating. Interment at the Matney Family Cemetery in McDowell County, WV will follow on Tuesday. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
