Curtis Callaway

Curtis Callaway, 70, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was born July 4, 1953, in Patrick County, to the late William Callaway and Ruby Lee Hagwood Callaway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Callaway; brother, Herman Callaway; and paternal grandparents, Minnie and Bowlen Hagwood.

He attended Patrick County High School where he played track, football, and basketball, and was employed at Fieldcrest Mills for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars.

Curtis is survived by his son, Curtis Trumaine Callaway; sisters, Sandra Callaway (Jerry) and Priscilla Turner (John); and brother, Michael A. Cole (Michelle).

The funeral service will be held Monday, August 28, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville, with Elder Christopher Hairston presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
