Dale Allen Sirry

Dale Allen Sirry, 71, of Catawba, VA passed away on May 26, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved father, pawpaw, son, and brother and was a cherished member of his community. Dale was known for his giving and helpful personality, and his passing has left a deep void in the lives of those he touched. He was a superhero to his children and grandchildren. His legacy will continue to live on in the heart of his family and friends.

Dale was born on July 27, 1951 to Earl and Elva Sirry, and grew up in Catawba with his siblings Susan, Carol and the late Donald Sirry. He attended Northside High School before entering the US Army Old Guard, where he served his country honorably. Dale held a few jobs before retiring from Graham White in Salem.

Dale was a man of many talents and interest and was always working on the farm or on a project of some kind. He was an expert farmer and woodworker, and he could do anything he set his mind to. He built his own home, made beautiful furniture and fed many people from his expansive garden. Dale was a gifted teacher, and he loved to impart his vast knowledge upon others.

Dale was a member of Grace Assembly of God, where he worshipped with his family and friends. He had a strong faith in God, which sustained him throughout his life.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Blaine; his son, Andrew (Rebecca); grandchildren, Dale, Destiny, and David; sisters, Susan (David) and Carol (Larry); several nieces and nephews; a large extended family; and his best canine friend Max.

Visitation for Dale will be held at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, 1330 East Main Street, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 6 until 8 pm. His funeral will take place at Grace Assembly of God, 5530 Catawba Valley Drive, Catawba on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery on Newport Road in Catawba. Dale will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
