Dale Dean Shrock, Sr. of Appomattox, Virginia
November 20, 1937 - September 6, 2022
Dale Dean Shrock, Sr., 84, of Appomattox, joined his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Hilda Elaine Shrock.
Born in Kingmen, KS, on November 20, 1937, he was a son of the late Phyllis Matlack and Otha Thurman Shrock. Dale proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by four children, Elaine Grishaw and husband, David of Appomattox, Charlene Pane and husband, Henry “Hank” of AZ, Pam Chavis and husband, Kyle of Farmville and Dale Shrock, Jr., and wife, Amy of Appomattox; seven grandchildren, Jessica Mason and husband, Ed, Tricia Silby, Matt Franklin, Kim Prentice, Les Prentice, Dale “Trey” Shrock, III, and Jordan Martin; one great-grandchild, Hunter Mason and wife, Cassidy.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susanne Prentice; his twin brother, Gale G. Shrock; and his sister, Phyllis Hysell.
The family would like to express a special thank you to his loving caregivers, Antonia “Libby” Robertson, Stacey Graves, Carol Lukeheart and Maddie; Rusty and Bella; as well as Pastor Doug Lee, for their love, care, and support of ‘Mr. Dale’.
He had a special affinity for airplanes and spent the past 20 years building model airplanes and was honored to pass this craft on to the “Boys from Rocks Church”.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating his life by doing another of his favorite things, eating and visiting with friends, at Dale and Amy’s home on Saturday, September 10, 2022, beginning at 6:00 P.M.
