Daniel Lee Akers

Daniel Lee Akers, Sr., passed away on May 25, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1966.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Akers; his mother, Norma Akers; and his grandfather, Willie Lawson.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Crystal Akers; his sons, Daniel Akers (Amanda), Billy Akers (Crystal), and Ricky Akers; his grandchildren, Breanna, Taylor, Kaylee, Leah, Jacob, Keileigh, Madison, Lilly, Gracie, Mackenzie, Isaiah, Edan, Nevaeh, Adeline, Jeremiah, Kenzleigh, Ashton, Avery, and Jayden; his great-grandchildren, Miyanna and TJ; his brothers, Ronald Akers and Billy Akers; his sisters, Norma Jean Evans (Tom) and Tammy Scalf (Jack); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Daniel enjoyed fishing, spending time with his children and family, riding his motorcycle, and sharing jokes that brought laughter to those around him. He was known for his sense of humor, his love for making people smile, and his determination to keep his mullet looking its best.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Roy from Star City Rehab for the care, kindness, and support shown to Daniel.

A celebration of life will be held at Lotz Funeral Home Salem on Wednesday, June 3rd at 2pm.
